Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just for those out there who think it's not possible to race without carbon......

Cipo raced a custom-made alu frame at the 2008 Tour of California, and got himself a 3rd in one of the stages.

Then there's Danilo Di Luca, who also prefers aluminium:

Aluminum is easier to make custom out of.

Even cannondale makes its liquigas pros aluminum prototypes so they can get the geometry right before making a carbon one (that's if they are lucky enough to get a custom frame)

How many times does your last name need to be spelled out on a bike frame? My god.

I was thinking there was something fishy because on the blue-print picture, it says "Protos", which is a carbon fiber frame.
