Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Unbelievable !!!

I initially thought this was going to be a pretty cool forum and a good resource for accurate info, however the old adage of a few bad apples don’t spoil the whole bunch is simply not true!!! For the people that helped me and gave me good honest info and opinions I’m very thankful and appreciative. I have gleaned what I believe to be enough info to make an informed decision on the purchase of a good road bike. Thanks again.

For all the haters, I want to say thanks to you as well. I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard. You guys are truly amusing. The irony is two fold, firstly you’re so paranoid someone is a troll and is going to upset your pressure little forum, yet you seam to thrive on controversy and insults. I guy can’t even ask an honest question without being ridiculed. If this is your great contribution to the world of biking you’ve failed miserably, and you’re worse than a troll!!! I know a lot of the big mouths that think there something really aren’t all that. I bet I could smoke you on my steel frame beach cruiser. LOL

I won’t be supporting this forum or its venders. Who wants to hang around someplace where you don’t feel welcome. So this will be my last post. Now you’ll have an open forum to say whatever you like and continue to stroke each others ---- egos. I’m done, but before I go I feel it necessary to say a few words to dcbikeguy and the other hatters.
Even though I don’t believe you are reprobates, the bible says don’t through your pearls to swine, Mathew 7:6 The word of God/the bible say’s blessed are those who suffer persecution and ridicule for my name sake.

So please feel free to continue to insult my faith if that’s what makes you feel like a man, and even though you do it out of hatred, I’m compelled to pray, “Forgive them father they know not what they do”

Dave

a few things
1) spell check is your friend....
2) no one likes a person that spouts their faith off at every given opportunity...
3) there have been a hundred people similar to you come and go here...and in an hour no one will remember you were here in the first place and someone will be right behind you to take your place.

To the OP,
I still enjoy this forum but I must say that I feel your pain.
Way too many times we get a newbie ask an honest question only to be blasted by other posters telling them to use the search function. Meanwhile, there a couple of infamous members of this board that can get ten pages of sheeple replies if they were to post a thread about their new socks. Then of course we have threads like these that will probably reach at least four pages.

This board is becoming less and less helpful and more like a gathering of spoiled frat boys talking about their expensive hobbies.

A true person of faith would pray for us silently, as their prayers would go directly to God, as should be intended.

A person filled with self-righteousness and spite would tell us that they're praying for us, to satisfy their need to feel superior and to wallow in their smugness.

By the way, my God says that you would be much happier at Road Bike Reviews.

Actually, I don't imagine that the current state of this forum represents the original idea that it was started on. The fact is that post count means $$$$, and controversial posting creates post count. With ads now being the focus, post count trumps idea. Sad, but true.

You don't think that it's any coincidence that 3 of the top ten posters are the ones most often called out do you?

I'm pretty sure YOU were being insulted, not your faith. (And I'm also pretty sure it was all done in good fun).

What? Who buys ads on a post count basis. Impressions or clicks, yes. Post count? No.

Well, you can think what you want, but post count is absolutely used. That is why many forums don't delete posts, they move them to a hidden folder. I've been part of big forums before, I have seen how it works.

Regardless, you don't post unless you come in here, and it's all the same.

You couldn't be more correct. Most of the posters here are Mama's boy's, whiners, walmart greeters, college PUKES, 7-11 night clerks.. You get the idea. Best thing to do is learn who to take serious, which greatly limits your choices and pay no attention to the above listed, which is about everyone who replied to your post. F'n Ass buckets..
