SH-R086L Road Shoes

I am looking to puchase my first set of shoes and pedals. Has anyone used these shoes and if so can you provide me your feedback please.

Thanks

I think I have these. They're ok I guess, love my Specialized tons tons better though...

I have the MTB equivalent, SH-M086L. Bought them recently, in fact, so I do not have many miles in them. So far I quite like them. They have plenty of room for my wide feet. Quite light (the road version might be even lighter), and they were the least expensive shoes with a ratcheting top strap I could find (the latest deep discounts might've changed that though).

Overall, me like.

I rode them for a week with Ultegra SPD-SL. They aren't that stiff, but the huge cleat provides a pretty big platform, so it felt as effective as SPD, just different. Really stiff shoes with SPD-SL or other road cleat would be a killer feeling I'm sure. I chose to go with SPD pedals and stiffer MTB shoes for a bunch of reasons, but I may eventually try road shoes again...
