Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Map My Ride Users

Anyone using Map My Ride? I can't seem to get a response from the site, so figured I would pose my question here. I have a route that is basically a loop, excepts that it returns for about 5 miles on the original outbound, 5 mile, starting route. When I map that, rather than adding the last 5 miles of turns to the cue sheet at the end of the ride, it inserts them among the first 5 miles of the ride. The pretty much renders the route sheet useless. Anyone seeing the same thing? Have a solution?

I just mapped the same ride on both, map my ride showed half of the climbing that bike route toaster did, now I know what to use when calculating elevation gain. I'll second the grade calculator question though.

agreed. I can't handle all this changing. But yeah, Map My Ride has problems, mostly with making lollipop routes.

I don't use BRT because it doesn't allow you to do a ride and then load it up. MMR does allow this. I tend to go for rides, find the ones I like, and then upload them. If you don't need this feature and you pre-map all your rides, bikeroutetoaster seems like a good app.
