What jerseys can a non racer pull off? Pics?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

i wear the full pro gear, i ride pro bikes as well
yeah its leary but i like it, bright colours. Might even save your life one day being noticed or laughed at in traffic. i race and belong to a club but that has nothing to do with anything. people will always worry about eticate but hey your just supporting your favorite rider in a team and its cheap and the highest quality. they dont sell it not to be worn

A LBS in my area had all their Rock Racing kits on sale at 40% off, when i went riding yesterday I saw about 10 guys wearing those kits. IMO if you can get a good deal on some quality riding clothes get it. There is no difference between going to a football game wearing a players jersey as a fan or riding in team gear as a fan.

I didn't read this entire thread but that Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" album cover jersey Primal does is kind of cool.

Yet everyone wearing the kits was out riding, what would be worse would be having them hang in the closet while they are on the couch.

Well, at least the cyclists are not sitting on their asses while wearing them. Oh, wait. Never mind!

i think it's ok to wear a team jersey, but when people wear the shorts, jersey, jacket, gillet, socks, mitts, cap or any combination of 2 or more of these i think it's too far.

I wear a fat cyclist jersey, good cause, and well i'm fat. I ordered the kit this year, because it was super cheap. If you order the bibs and jersey it came out to more money than ordering the kit with arm warmers, water bottle and socks. Not that ill wear them all at once but might as well get the free stuff at same time.

Hey Silkywoods, I like your question!
I personally love all the race kits, but can't choose which one and mostly don't want a team-kit that represents a bike mfg different from what I am riding. So I went a little different and have been getting into the vintage wool jersey thing:

I have yet to find more online, but I have a good source so far as I purchased this for $35!!!!!!!!!! @ Purchased from Open Road Bicycle Shop - Pasadena, CA
<a href="http://local.yahoo.com/info-20618606-open-road-bicycle-shop-pasadena">local.yahoo.com/info-20618606-open-road-bicycle-shop-pasa...</a>
Open Road does not have a website, but if you are ever in Pasadena, it's well worth the trip! Don't forget to visit Velo Pasadena around the corner too!

I have some short sleeve one's too.
PS: THEY DO NOT ITCH!!!

Can an weekend warrior (non racer) wear a Team/Pro jersey...Like a Quickstep or a Specialized Pro jersey for example.
I'm learning fast that there are a lot of rules in this sport and just want to stay in check.
Plus I'm getting tires of the solid plain jerseys, just looking for some style. Post pics please.

In this country you're free to wear any jersey you want. In places like communist China and such it's a different story.

Really? You can't wear clothing of your choosing in China?

Don't be silly.
Indeed.

I'm thinking I need one of these. Although if there is a jersey for the Lanterne Rouge, the might be more appropriate.
