I just saved 146 grams!

Notices
Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

I just saved 146 grams!

I'm afraid to even say it, for fear of being cursed, but since I very rarely get flats I decided to lighten the load by dumping the C02\mini pump inflater and buying the topeak micro pump.

Just because I'm curious, how much does one of the innovations CO2 cartridges weigh on its own? I don't have a gram counter, else I'd just check.

That pump doesn't work. When you're at the side of the road with a flat and can't get enough air in your tires to not bottom out, ask yourself if the 146 grams were worth it.

And just think you will be 400 grams lighter the first time you get flat and have to pump 3-400X times to get 100psi.

As one review I read.

Topeak says it's rated up to 160PSI but I don't have the patience to find out - my arms were burning with the number of strokes to get to 110.

I have used that pump, it took a while but I didn't mind. I usually carry two CO2 canisters and this https://www.genuineinnovations.com/bi...=1&prodid=1000

Those micro pumps are worth as much as the plastic they are molded out of, they suck.

I got a freebie SKS Sub-40 pump at interbike a few years back. That thing takes a few minutes to pump up the tube to get it to hold shape! I can blow into the tubes faster than that thing.

I dumped my Road Morph for a Topeak carbon mini-pump, two Co2 carts and the Air Chuck. I'm happy with that combo. It weighs about the same, but the pump disappears next to the water bottle mount, and the Co2 stuff goes into the saddle bag.

i have the same pump as the OP and it takes me a good 20min to fix a flat, from taking off the wheel to remounting it. i probably spend half that time trying to put air into the tube. it goes to 80psi just fine, 90 is a bit of a struggle and a 100 i tend to give up on. i just pump till i feel somewhat comfortable with riding it.
