Right Leg Doing All The Work?
So basically I came to this realization today as I was doing hill repeats. I HEAVILY rely on my right leg to muscle me up when I'm not spinning. During sprints, my left foot just sits along for the ride!
What can I do to mend this asap!? This is really hurting my power output most definitely. (The search function required far more effort than this did) |

Some of the members of my club advocate pedaling with only one foot clicked in and letting that one foot do all the work.. I saw one really strong member unclip. I asked are your cramping or what?.. No, he said, it's one sided pedaling. That , the means to make you use your weaker leg and make both equally strong. Or better yet. Super Strong.

I came to a similar realization when I was riding. Right leg doing more work.
As mentioned I tried the one legged drills on a clear stretch of road. It's really effective. When you get both back in you feel much stronger and more aware of each leg. It also helps you focus on getting a nice rounded stroke. Give it a shot! |
leg length discrepancy?

I had a similar problem, but realized my seat was to high so it was just really akward to use the other leg full out...

Most riders have a similar imbalance to some degree.
Do 1 lp drills as suggested. Also core work, stretching, the usual stuff that I know you know about and are already doing, right? If it really continues to be a problem, you might have a nerve function test done. I had a chiropractor do mine and it confirmed what I already knew (significant imbalance) but I bet an MD could do it too. |
