kind of sucks paying for one pair of bibs what you could pay for ALMOST two pairs of shorts. But if they are that comfortable....Oh well, just have to do laundry every day as I will only be able to afford 1 pair of bibs initially. Maybe by July I can buy another pair.

Not necessarily. Hammer Nutrition sells their bibs (which are widely considered a very good value) for $7 more than their shorts.

No gut=no bibs for me, I don't like the extra layer in the summer heat. Changing in the car is quicker and less obvious and no bathroom issue is a benifit. I like my PI Micro-Sensor shorts and have bib thermals but appreciate the extra layer when it's colder.

I'm a recent bib convert just this last month. Thank goodness for Bonktown and their deals on Hincaipe bibs. Picked up bib tights, knickers, and shorts from there.
Needless to say, i'm not going back to shorts if I can help it.

I love bibs and if it wasn't so hard to :::ahem::: relieve myself on longer rides, I'd wear them all the time. You boys have it easy.

+100 but necessary, no. I am glad I took the plunge and switched to bibs about 4 years ago. My shorts collect dust in a drawer or are used under tights in the winter.

I'm looking for a few more pairs for the summer, Brandy, any suggestions for some nice women's bibs? I'm pretty happy with my Volers, but wouldn't mind trying something new.

Bibs are better. One issue if you don't wear a base layer with them is nipple irritation (yes, in men). A firend of mine has this issue and pretty much got over it with good base layers. Bio-breaks are definitely an issue - but like everything else, practice makes perfect. Nothing to beat the comfort of bibs on long rides!

Its not the bibs that causes a nipple problem - its the jersey itself. And FYI I have not 'got over it' yet.

See you at 5:30 at Sony World.

Like shoes .... the ones that fit are good. The ones that don't fit are bad.
