Super Record 11 VS SRED - ?
*IF PRICE was Not a Factor* - which set would you purchase and why?
What if any difference does/will 11 mean?
Shifting precision between the two sets?
I'm torn between which to put on my prospective Pinarello Prince Build and need more 'data' - opinions - sarcastic comments etc... you get the picture.

perhaps I should have qualified my question a bit (DA is nice - sure... but between RED and Super Record 11) - I have done DA7800 and did not see that much of a difference in 7900 to make we want it. I have not gone Campy and perhaps that is why I'm considering -- oh and it looks Cool :0

I have SRAM Red and love it, but I'm sure I'd also love SR.
On a Pinarello I'd have SR...

I have them both, as well as D/A. I used RED for the most part of last year, so I'm very familiar with it. It is both efficient and frustrating, very good in many ways—innovative, ingenious—and extremely annoying in a few other. SR11, however, does exactly what you expect it to do. If precision is what matters most to you, then this is it. In my view, SR11 is in its own level, way above all others.
Nissan versus Ferrari.
The italians got this one right.

Nice - folks thanks for the input. SR on a Prince sounds good.
In terms of excessive cash flow - whats another 1.3K on an build nearing 13K - or at least that's how I'm justifying it...

The only thing I don't like about Super Record 11 is the price. If something could be done about that, I'd get it.

do they make the new campy in 10spd? the ergos are sweet for the campy but if you are going to race the 11s is a pain in the arse from everyone i talk to.

FWIW, you don't much for the extra cost of SR over Record 11. I've got two bikes with Campy 11 and chose a mix of mostly Record, but with Chorus cassettes and cranks. Those real pricey Ti cogs last about half as long as Chorus steel cogs, so no thanks.
I don't care for those silly cutouts in the brake levers either. The CULT bearings might be nice if you ride in the wet a lot, but I don't and decided to save some more cash with Chorus cranks that only weigh 40 grams more.

Sort of. I checked on this and my LBS gets their stuff from quality bike and they can swap the internals to 10 spd. Seems like it was $50 more, but a lot cheaper than swapping mechs and cassettes. The ergos on the 09 stuff are nice. I demo'd a bike with it and it rocks.

SR without a doubt.
the only complaint you hear is the price but those who try it admit it shifts so well. quick and smooth.
the thumb action is so natural and the levers are very comfortable.
"but who needs 11 speeds" well campy was the first with 10 speeds and people snickered then.
only campy on an italian frame. its worth the price.

Great- well the Prince will have SR - thx all for comments/discussion. I have never owned - or even ridden Campy so I look forward to seeing how they compare to DA.
