Scott cr1 sl headset question?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Scott cr1 sl headset question?

Does anybody in here has change their oem headset on a scott cr1 to something else. I am wondering what are the specs on it and what are my options. I would prefer ritchey since I am doing a ritchey cockpit. I currently run an fsa that was installed at a local shop but it creaks when i am out of the saddle. Someone at another forum suggested this https://www.ritcheylogic.com/dyn_prodfamily.php?k=98489 but my frame appears to use this but the problem is that i do not know the specs of the oem headset nor do i know how they meassure them. do i need campy or cane creek or something else.

My CR1 came with a Ritchy headset. I don't really know any of the specs for it, but I coped these from the Scott website.

FORK
Scott Carbon CR1 Pro
1 1/8 " carbon steerer
HEADSET
Integrated Cartridge

I hope that helps some.

I can tell you how to figure out which one you have. The IS standard bearing is 41mm in diameter and should be marked 36 x 45. A campy standard is 41.8mm in diameter and should be stamped 45 x 45. Sorry I can't tell you which one Scott uses. It seem like nearly every brand fails to list this in their specs. I suspect it's the more popular IS/Cane Creek standard. FSA, Ritchey and Cane Creek all make both designs.
