Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Raleigh R600

So I have been searching, but there isn't much mention of it anywhere. I found a used 2002 Raleigh R600 for $325 near me.
https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/bik/1136702762.html

From what I can find it has full 105 components, and a decent wheel set, but I was hoping someone might be able to tell me more.

I did find this link, which has some info, but I would prefer some first hand experience.

Well any info would be great, I was just thinking that $325 for the full 105 components, and a decent wheel set is good even if the frame is crap. I say this because I have heard people talk about the fall in Raleigh bikes, I hear they just aren't what they used to be.

seems like a good deal to me, if the frame/parts are in good condition. raleigh probably isn't the same company they used to be, but i'd guess their frames come out of the same factories most others do (in taiwan).

btw since you're in the area, did you know SVC is having an '08 sale? they might have some good deals there, worth checking out.

Thanks for the heads up about SVC. I actually live up in Bellingham, but my parents live down in Maple Valley and if this bike looks promising (if he gets back to me) then I might go see them this weekend.
