Trek 330, good beginner road bike? Is this Craigslist listing at a good price?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Trek 330, good beginner road bike? Is this Craigslist listing at a good price?

I'm a recreational long distance runner and I'm interested in mixing up my workouts by buying a cheap, entry-level road bike to possibly do some biking over the summer. I will also use it for getting to class next year. I noticed this Craigslist listing for a Trek 330 (and the size of 52cm is perfect for me) and was wondering what everyone thinks? Is the price too high? I emailed him and he said it is in very good condition. What sort of questions should I ask? Thanks for any help.

I have a 330 and it would be a good basic bike for the kind of use you're describing. Looks clean in that pic; go take it for a test ride & if it rides & fits well, go for it!
