My old 531 Dawes Super Galaxy (~'83 UK built and complete with TA Specialties triple, Suntour parts group, Dia Compe brakes, Esge fenders, front and rear racks, no braze-ons) is not that great imho.
Im going to sell it as soon as a put together a new bike that I can easly mount fenders and a Campagnolo gruppo on.
I like my new aluminum Cinelli much better than that old steelie.

1.) Too cheap to buy a newer bike No, not really. If you stick to the high end stuff, love Italian/Euro frames and groups, there's not much of anything "cheap" about it.
2.) Hopelessly deluded that there is something nostalgic about old bicycles I'll give you this one
3.) Convinced that it's Wussy to ride something that weighs under 19lbs Nope, it's the Lincoln Towncar like ride quality that carries the day
4.) You find the rust that accumulates in ancient steel frames charming Rust Blasphemy!
5.) None of that new-fangled STI crap for you Modern STI on classic hand crafted SL/SLX rules.
6.) Nothing beats a classic bicycle brand name like 'Motobecane' before it was Taiwanicated by BDYep, I like my Moto

Oh well, this is a topic for the Vintage/Classic forum anyway.

OK, send me to typing school (and you'll be watching yours no doubt)
So, give Townes a Hofner (I had one in '62 which I couldn't learn to play. Sold it and bought my first road bike) and what have you got? Give a BF BSr a Colnago and what have you got?
