Good to see some other Okies on here. We'd love to have some of you guys up on a saturday for a ride sometime. We have some pretty good riding here in Stillwater. Low traffic with enough changes in terrain to keep it from being boring.

Was told about the OBS Turkey Buster ride for the 26th while we were in a bike shop buying stuff on Tues. We'd only brought cold weather stuff. 79F Tues afternoon when my wife and I rode.
Fri was a little different. 24F w/a west wind when we left Stars and Stripes Park at 9 AM. 4 ppl. We picked up 2 more at the Boathouse after riding thru Nichols Hills, Classen Corner, Bricktown. Rode to Portland on the MUP trail then headed straight up Portland back to the park. 20 mi, really easy pace, not sure if I burned any calories.
Weather must have kept a lot of ppl indoors Fri AM. Was a little disappointed more didn't show up. Weenies.

Hello, anyone in here? Did all the riders leave Edmond/OKC?

Reasonably Slow...
Some of the weekly rides in OK have been cancelled this year due to the heat. I don't usually ride with the Vo-tech ride, so I don't know its status.
I heard someone at the LBS asking about it a couple weeks ago, but I didn't catch the conclusion. I'll keep my ears open and let you know if I hear anything.
By the way, I heard it at Schlegel's Bikes--if you want to call them directly, the number is 405.232.4040. No guarantees that anyone who works there will know though.

This one is down south.
All the other rides I get notices on are slower ones.
OBS has a Saturday ride section
Also, you can probably post for a ride in a specific area here and maybe someone will be interested.

Group did the route for the Red Man, except I flatted twice, group didn't stop, I caught up to 2 ppl who didn't know where we were supposed to turn around, so we ended up doing 65 mi. And godd*^n it was hot! 86F when we started at 7, 99F when we finished at 11.

Will be in town for Thanksgiving. Anyone planning group ride for Fri or Sat? Did the Turkey Buster last year on Fri. Is the ride from Francis Tuttle on Sat still going on?

I think the francis tuttle ride is still going. Our team/club has a ride that leaves from Celestial Cycles (Hefner and May) at 9:00am 30 to 40 miles usually. 17-18 mph pace.

The "Turkey 200" ride is leaving Route 66 Park (West side of Lake Overholser) Friday at 8am. 200k (124 miles) or however long you want to go. https://turkey200.tumblr.com

Yes, the team/club ride departs from Celesital at 9:00 on Saturdays. Usually about 10-15 solid riders and a good workout, but not a hammerfest. It's usually 40 plus miles.
For the Francis Tuttle ride, my last garmin download shows 46 mi @ 21.3 avg. I don't know what it's like this time of the year though. It's another good ride. Faster.
As I understand, the turkey200 will loop north around OKC, so it may take a bit more planning of your own for 56 miles & route back to your car, etc. I'm sure the riders would be helpful.
If you need more info, just mssg me - glad to help.
