Just ordered my first Hammer kit!
For $100 i got a short sleeve jersey, bib shorts, and a single serving of Perpetuem shipped 2-day shipping!
$100 would just barely cover the cost of a Capoforma jersey, let alone the shorts, so I'm pretty stoked right now!

We should go on a ride together with you in your Hammer kit and me in my new Herbalife kit (courtesy of a relative who got sucked in as a distributor)

That's actually a good question. It definitely is in things like Furnace Creek and Ironmans and stuff, and Hammer will give you money for placing in such events wearing their kit. As for USAC sanctioned events, I'm not too sure anymore. I believe you used to only be allowed to race for clubs registered with them (then the USCF), but I think now it says club or sponsor, and a contingency program kind of counts as a sponsorship. Maybe EventServices or CarpeDiemRacing will chime in on that.

I feel like such a wh0re in that kit, I haven't been able to bring myself to wear it in a group ride. I'm afraid someone who got screwed by the company will stick a frame pump in my wheel or something. So far, the only comment I've gotten was someone mistaking it for the ToC Sprinter's jersey (very similar, since Herbalife sponsored it).

Are you still a Cat 5? If so, very few officials around here care what the heck you race in. Once you're a 4, you will need to wear your team outfit only or the other riders will hate on you.

I'm a four, I have 4 kits right now, two being PAA, and I've been training 6 days a week so I needed to grab another one.

The '09 Hammer kit looks hot, I'm going to pick up some for training rides.
You can totally race in Hammer kit, since it's not a team kit.

I looked at it like I can do one of two things, buy another Capoforma kit with a minimum of $89 for the jersey and $139 for the shorts, and be advertising a company that essentially does nothing for my riding. Or I could spend $100 on a kit hat probably will be just as comfortable and just as well made and be advertising for a company that has taught me a lot and produces me product that I do feel has helped me. When I laid it out like that it was a pretty easy choice.

I love my kit, train in it all the time. What size did you get? I ordered medium top and bottom and I'm liking the fit, spot on. Some of the size large Italian stuff feels too long.

I ordered medium and I'm a bit nervous, I wear a medium in Capoforma jerseys, they fit really well not overly tight. My team kit which is LG was too big in medium and I had to size down to a small jersey which is just a bit too tight. I looked at the size charts in LG i should really be a 39 chest I think and that falls right in the middle of the Hammer medium sizing. Hopefully they're not too big, I'm not a fan of flappy jerseys.

I need to order some new whey protein, might just do it through them and grab a kit at the same time. I normally get the EAS stuff. Anybody use the Hammer protein? Good, bad, as good as protein can be? Haha.
I think I might go with the small shorts/bibs if I order a kit. My knees are skinny and some shorts fit weird...I'm a 30 waist.

Was that some sort of promotion or did you just pick that stuff?

As far as the Hammer Whey goes I used it for a few months, the flavored versions were SO gross I couldn't finish them. I didn't notice any sort of super crazy improvement by switching from Designer Whey to Hammer Whey but I did notice I got a bit gassy with Hammer. I like having a tub of hammer unflavored whey around the house for cooking though. You can mix that hammer whey into pancakes, muffins, oat meal, I even mixed it into chili once. It's too expensive for me to justify using it all the time but for cooking it's great.
