Last day of Litespeed Ultimate
WTF - after suffering through miserable Minneapolis weather since Jan 31 of 2009, Finally I ride on a day that wasn't too hot, too cold, or too windy (May 3). Towards the end of the ride, with my buddy's tongue hanging out, and he's begging for mercy, this '03 Litespeed (which was replaced once with a cracked frame in 1999) again - cracks.
I am so sick of going into the LBS and being told, "I haven't seen THAT before". After having my Dura-Ace crank arm fail 2 times in 8 months, I'm trying to figure out why the crank arm hasn't been recalled, but why my reliable R-Sys wheels have been recalled, Oh....and I'm STILL waiting for my replacement R-Sys wheel which was SUPPOSED to be shipped after March 31st. Here is a picture of me in happier times (June 2008 upon completion of the MN Paul Bunyon double century, average speed of 21.2 MPH total ride time of 10 hours 38 minutes.

I just put together an Ultimate when I got a leftover 2002 frame for a good price. I'm really sorry to see your pics.

I'm speechless.
Both for the frame cracking (I've never seen THAT before) and the double century time. WOW on both counts!

I have a Teledyne Titan frame from 1976 with exactly that crack. Apparently some people aren't too good at learning from other's mistakes. In fact, the Teledyne was a replacement for a frame with the same crack.

Hi! Let us know how your warranty replacement claim turns out. Litespeed used to have great customer service, I wonder if it's still the same today.

Been there done that.

At least my Ibis Titanium Road frame (c. 1995) hasn't cracked yet. But my older Merlin did.
These 'Titanium is Forever' weenies kill me. It all breaks.
