Notices
Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

Another Post about Cycling Shorts

I'll save you the grief immediately and say this isn't about whether to wear underwear or not.

It's about the padding, and the lack of effect the padding does. I've ridden with these shorts for 3 years, and have never bothered to ask anyone why it's equally comfortable as baggied shorts. The padding isn't positioned correctly for my seating position - i.e. there is no padding being compressed by my rear. Is this normal? Do I have the wrong pair of shorts? And am I better off removing the padding from my shorts to save on the weight?
thanks

if the padding is not where you sit, you may have the wrong shorts.. I find that bib shorts work better in keeping the chamois in place. The more important job of the chamois is protect you from chafing.. Good quality material will "hide" the seams you sit on, and is a bit stiff so the top layer of the chamois stay tight stretched so it doesn't create wrinkles and creases that dig into you and you sit on it for hours.. The longer the rides the more important the quality of the chamois..
