Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

just need assistance on picking one of these.

which one would you pick and why?

$600 2007 Trek 1500 Discovery Edition 50", Scratched rear derailleur and handle bars from stand still fall when first learning to unclip, no other mods, no pedals. from Craig's list local private owner
or
$695 2009 Motobecane Record 50" brand new from LBS
or
$795 2009 Allez Compact 49" brand new from LBS
