#1 thing you have learned from BF?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

One thing? That's hard to say- riding tips, bike mechanics, gear reviews, met a few like-minded folks, had a lot of laughs...

One thing? "Just keep coming back, it works."

The most important thing that I learned on BF was that despite 29 seasons of riding and 160,000+ miles, I should be wearing my sunglasses over my helmet straps.

Or was that under? Crap, I can't remember.

A guy was yelling me on the Nyack Ride today, and I have no idea why, particularly since I was the idiot at the point of the friggin spear taking the big pull into the 20 mph headwind. I'm not sure what else he wanted me to do. He wasn't exactly helping with the chase either. Mercifully, he turned off in Pearl River and I was left with the dulcet tones of my iPod Shuffle.

1) I'm not fast enough
2) my bike isn't trick enough
3) I don't ride enough
4) Every time I'm happy with my performance on a ride, I come and read about umd's "recovery" ride of 100+ miles and 10,000+ feet of climbing and go sulk in my misery.
