What Makes a Cervelo So Great???

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Because their cable routing provides superior aerodynamics, of course.

I ride one. That should be enough for you.

Because they're excellent bikes. Problem is they're pricy, so of course those who can't afford them label those who can elitists, lemmings, whatever.

If you pick up a psych textbook, look up "rationalization."

Design/engineering, presentation of engineering results, pricing and marketing. I own an R3 and P2C. I liked the ride, fit and pricing compared to others in Cervelo's class.

But Jorge, I ride one and I don't understand.

The S2 felt great hammering on Nyack today. What a great race bike.

I'm not going to lie the S3 fit me amazing, it felt smooth and comfortable but also extremely explosive when I stood up and sprinted, it wasn't as twitchy as I expected, it just felt amazing fit wise. If I had the money to race and crash one, I'd rock it. Then again it had Zipp 808's, DA 7900 and full carbon 3T set up...

Competitive Cyclist sells all sorts of high end brands, and in my experience don't push customers one way or the other. I bought a BMC there, and Cervelo was never mentioned.

Look at their Gallery, and see what people buy. You can check the number of Gallery pages for each brand. Cervelo dominates, and seems to be increasing its domination in recent years.
  • BMC 10
  • Cervelo 38
  • Colnago 15
  • De Rosa 5
  • Kestrel 1
  • Kuota 1
  • Litespeed 8
  • Look 5
  • Merckx 6
  • Opera Bike 2
  • Pegoretti 4
  • Pinarello 15
  • Ridley 12
  • Titus 1
  • Willier 1
