MicroSense Shorts
 

Anyone bought Pearl's new MicroSense shorts -
I have been riding their UltraSense for over a year and have had no problems. Figured with a couple long rides coming up, the extra padding might be a nice suprise to my rear...
Unfortunatly, both times I have riden them, I have had numbness in my groin and my toes. Which I haven't experienced since last spring.

Anyone else have this problem - or any suggestions as to what might be happening..
I can't imagine Pearl would put out a product that would cause this kind of problems - when it's tauted as the lastest and greatest...

I have been using the micosencor for the last two years. Great shorts but I have now switched to the HeliArc. The fused seams arm more comfortable that the flay lock seams. Once you are spending a couple of hundred bucks on a pair of shorts why not get the best?

I think the heliarc have the same chamois - having any trouble with it?

I just got rid of my Microsensor bibs and shorts. The chamois wasn't even under my sit bones. While riding I checked where my sit bone was hitting the seat and the chamois. Most of the big chamois pad was sitting 2" back behind my sit bone and I was actually sitting up front. I tried everything. Just wasn't working for me.
They were a little sensitive to piling and the front seam blew out after about 2 months.
I opted for a pair of shorts/bibs with one piece of chamois and with wings. No more problems. I still use an old pair of PIs that have the one big piece of chamois and they work fine with a little chamois buttr.

I compared the Heliarc with Assos, and I like Assos better.. very close in price too..

I use plain spandex compression shorts no padding(never tried padding) no creme(never tied htis either) and I have no problems even riding unpaved roads.

Cap..Maybe you have skin of leather..The biggest reason I find bike clothes needed is the chamois.Yes, some chamois are better than others.. I have one older favorite set of bike shorts/jersey combo... The chamois is pretty compressed. Whenever I put them on for a ride, the rear hurts.
