New Ride: BMC SLC01 Pro Machine

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Your wheel selection seems odd. You got a pro level bike, but a wheelset designed for mere mortals. What are you really gonna ride with?

Good catch. Yeah - I didn't "NEED" new wheels with the bike, but figured I'd purchase a pair to have as spares (primarily so that Competitive Cyclist would do a complete build with the bike). I've got a pair of Roval Fusee SL that i'll throw on the bike when i get home.

The aksiums, while pedestrian, actually look really nice on that bike. But I'm not a fan of deep section wheels anyway.

In person, the wheels seem a bit...off...aesthetically speaking. Can't place my finger on it...maybe the Yellow/Red tags on the rims.

Oh trust me...i was sooo close to adding it to the build. I'll be content with my Roval's for now and hope that maybe Santa Claus helps me out later this year.

Absolutely incredible bike, I love BMC's.

This wheelset is pretty incredible, i'm a clyde so a bit harder on wheels than others. I was descending at 55mph on these things and they felt rock solid. I am not that great at climbing but again these things felt super stiff and put the power to the pavement.

Yeah i was a bit surprised to find the EC70 Seatpost had the silver top; I assumed it would look like the EC90...didn't have a choice, came standard with the configuration. But hey...i'd be bored to tears in a few months if I didn't have new stuff to waste my money on and buy for the bike, right?
