Aliante users: where to measure saddle height?
What are your opinions regarding where to measure BB - saddle height? Directly above the seatpost? Using a level from the highest part of the saddle?
I have been farting around with the CC fit calculator and I'm using the Eddie numbers, with a BB - saddle height 83.4 cm and a setback of 6.8 cm. I just took it out for a ride and my legs got a good stretch!, but I adjusted my toe position and kind of liked the overall feeling even though I definitely felt less power. I did not feel that my hips were rocking and could maintain and even pedal stroke...
I guess my second follow-up question would be if the body will adjust naturally over time to this new saddle position or am I asking for trouble?

Measure to where you sit on it.

Sorry, that's what I meant by "above the seatpost"...as in taking the tape measure along the seatpost and continuing to the seat in a straight line. That's how I have been doing it. I just wondered whether a seat with a rise in the tail would be different

I measure to the lowest point of the saddle. Since the Aliante is quite curved, it is actually easier to measure than a flat saddle, but saddle tilt will be much more critical. I have mine slightly nose up, if measure with a yardstick on edge from the center of the V in the back of the saddle across the center of the nose.
Good Luck!

I love my Aliante's, currently on 3 bikes. The CC calculator gives you a range so get it within it and play with it a few mm at time until it's perfect.

Which model and how many km are they lasting? My gamma with 5000 km is fine so far. I know my Arione lasted 10000 km before it became a hammock. I think the carbon twin flex may last longer.
