Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The proposed price for the basic unit is $300.00... other modules can be added for extra $$$.

Good application.
I'll consider trying one when they get the price down to $29.95.

The rear view monior thing is lame IMO but the computer could be interesting. I for one welcome another ant+ compatible power meter head unit on the market. Maybe it will be better than using a garmin.

Its all a question of price and weight.

I ride on NYC streets with lots of double park cars, if the price is right and it does not weigh much, I would hunt it.

If it had a "record" function.

Hours of cycling and motoring-related 'comedy' could be compiled on youtube monthly.

It does have record. And with the 30 seconds of rolling recording which stops in the event of an accident, your loved ones will have video of your last half second on earth to remember you by.

What's the question? The ^ might indicate that 25.1 km/h is above the average speed like some computers show. Or it could just be an indicator that head unit is receiving data.

If it sent the picture to my Garmin and did record the last minute(s) in HD, then yeah, I'd consider one. Having a GPS data record with the last few seconds before (insert bad act here) could indeed be useful later to either me or my next of kin.

I'd definitely get that, but I'll wait till the price drops.

I wonder how battery life is, or if that's two more things I need to recharge daily

No. One of the things I like about cycling is it's simplicity. This adds complication.

Would be cool if you could add that on to a Garmin or something as one of the screens to that you can cycle through. In a couple of years, I'm sure.

Now that actually sounds practical. I was going to just chalk this thing up as stupid. ANT+ and use as potential evidence make this seem useful. Needs expandable storage though.

Half you guys have Power Taps, heart rate monitors, Garmins with mapping and altitude, titanium plated carbon fiber chin straps on your helmet.... and this is too much of a gadget for you? I think it's kinda neat.

Where do I get the chin strap? Does it have a ceramic upgrade option?
