Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bianchi Rider, Call me crazy but thats a hell of a TT/tri setup you have for not having an aero fork. Between the handlebars and wheelset I thought you would have went for some sort of aero fork. If you're worried about losing the Bianchi effect you could probably get a fork painted the right color.

Okay I almost hit the buy now, but instead I emailed him and asked questions and asked for more pics, now I have to sweet talk my wife... Wish me luck.

I was actually thinking of the forks. But I am so tempted on the bike I saw on ebay the forks may have to wait a few more weeks

Don't waste your time on duplicating a TT bike.

Feast your eyes on this:
1953 Bianchi TdF. Not totally period correct but close.
(and he has the parts to make it correct).
Sure anyone can ride that TT bike but how many people
can lay claim to this baby?
its currently on e-buy and I bet it goes over $3k

I'd kill for a bike like that. Of course my wife would
kill if I bought a bike like that (and it wasn't a $25. yard
sale special!).

I made the guy an offer, he pretty much accepted, but said he wanted to talk on the phone prior to the buy. there are 3 bids on the bike right now and after reading some more I notice it needs a bit more work than I anticipated. BUT I am still considering tho I havent said a word to my wife yet...
I am sooooooo tempted tho I know it needs some work... decisions decisions hmmmm
