who likes 2200/sora equipped schwinn bikes?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Why is a Schwinn with Sora priced at $1000? I demand an explanation.

Paint damage from grinding the brake cable into the top tube on the rack is free of charge, obviously.

i'm sure it really isnt that bad, but its not even full sora, it has some 2200 thrown in there. the price is the problem, along with the fact that its being sold by a big-box store, which means no support, fitting, or competent help...

Yup, i wasn't arguing that. The price seems at least twice as high as it should be.

Is that a Scheels by the way?

The Target I worked at many moons ago during college had a guy come from Mongoose or Huffy or whatever when the bikes were delivered. He was a grizzled old dude who slapped 30 bikes together in a few hours in the warehouse. We'd toss them on a the sales floor racks and sold tons of 24 speed mountain bikes with knobbies to unsuspecting suburban dads in pleated khaki shorts.

No one ever came back yelling at us about how their bike fell apart...but then again, maybe they crashed and died.

In my experience, more often than not the bikes I see on department store sales floors have a loose stem and improperly adjusted headset. Seems kind of dangerous to me. That's all I'm saying.
