Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wide and open places like pix in this thread, it's hard to find and go cycling in Tokyo and Yokohama area.

Well, there are many short hills in Yokohama like this.

At the top of the pic, the road turns to right then gets steeper drastically, I can't climb any more with 39x27.

I’ve been there on a road bike before but this was a day after a good rain so I was on the old beater Iguana.

That road doesn't look so bad. Some of our streets are more screwed up than that.

This one is a few weeks old from a solo ride

Carbon Canyon Road. Going from Brea, CA into Chino Hills. One of my favorite routes when it's quiet and car free

Fall leaves. My bike and trailer. My grandson along for the ride, on one of our favorite paths.

On the Wiouwash Trail near Neenah WI. It is an old rail line converted to a trail and runs around 25 miles from Oshkosh to Hortonville, all flat and hard packed dirt, gravel. About 40 degrees out today.
