Notices
Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

BF member TCR killed in car crash

Beanz put this in the SoCal forum but I know some of you guys knew him. I rode with him a couple times, he was friendly and way too young to leave.

My condolences to the family and loved ones. I'm not familiar with him, but he's one of us.

At first I thought he was on a bike. Odd circumstances - he was driving, crossed the double yellow and collided with a tractor trailer. Wonder what caused it... not that it really matters. I'll just pray for peace and comfort for him and all those who knew him.

Drowsiness kills more people in car crashes than alcohol each year.

Sad for everyone involved.

Terrible. I know the area. Those big rigs really move. As someone said, he was one of us. Our prayers are with the family.

Wow, incredible how a life can be wiped out so quickly. I value life more and more every day I am alive. I am only 25 but keep seeing people getting diagnosed with cancer or other horrible things and I watch my mom slowly aging and my dad is already gone. Be careful out there guys. You only get one shot at this. My condolences to his family and friends.

38 years old is much to young to die. This is awfully sad.

Terrible. I think I rode with him once when he made the trip out to join one of our regional rides. He was a nice guy on the forums and what little I knew him in person.

May he rest in peace.
I lost one of my best friends to suicide this past monday. My appreciation for this one life we have is growing considerably. I'm beginning to smile at the sounds of children just being themselves, being alive.
I'm glad I'm a cyclist, so that I can go out, see, and enjoy this beautiful world we've been given.
My friend was 22, and was showing strong interest in becoming a cyclist.
