Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cheaper carbon cages, just pulled the trigger

Found these what look to be Serfas cages on ebay, 2 for $30. Serfas cages usually retail for about $80 in the store for a pair so if you'll looking for some carbon cages but don't want to burn your money these are about $10-$15 more than a pair of plastic ones at most stores. Plus they're shipping from the states not Hong Kong like all the others on there.

wait until you get them and use them before you recommend them.

Good point but I have Serfas cages and I've been so so so happy with them so I'm comfortable recommending Serfas cages. I asked the seller and he said they are infact Serfas cages even though it looks like they're blank.

I've seen those as well, but was hesitant about actually ordering. Have you used carbon bottles before? Tell us how that goes for you...if they aren't cracked in 3 months, I think I'd like to buy some too

After trying many cages, I've found Arundel to be the best. They are just the right stiffness to grip the bottle securely but not so stiff that they are hard to get in and out.

Well I'm not sure about these ones I don't like how they're open, my Serfas cages I have wrap completely around the bottle. They're EXTREMELY flexible but it makes it easy to get the bottle in in a rush and after a year and a half there are no cracks or damage. They've also never spit a bottle in a crash.

Hopefully these new ones are just as grippy on the bottles, either way it's what I could afford that was light and would look good on my new bike. I would have just gotten cheap plastic ones for my Trek and put the carbon ones on there on my new bike but I wanted all black.

I have Arundel cages and I like their functionality, but do yourself a favor and DO NOT get the silver. The clear-coat on the silver has yellowed in less than a year and they look like s$%^ now.

Oh well, I refuse to re-up on carbon bottle cages because they are ugly. I just get uglier bottles to draw the eye away from the cage.

You should just use that as your avatar or put it in your sig. I would hate to see you get a repetitive strain injury.

I have several of the glossy black and 2 of the matte black which looks pretty sweet with the matteblack finish of my frame.

Been using Ebay carbon cages for 3-4 months now. Got them based of reviews from weight weenies forum. They are sub 19g cages, used a scale in chem lab Never had an issue with dropping a bottle; I use 1L bottles in the summer. You can find them on the bay by searching for "D1 carbon cages". They cost me ~$25 shipped for two.

+1 on Arundel cages. Also, they have a sideloader cage which is good for the seat tube on small'ish sloped framesets
