Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Look Keo

I recently purchased a bike with clipless peddles and it came with cleat. My question is if i need to go on short 5 to 10 min rides is it alright if i go without the cleats? or is it always better with the cleats?

I occasionally ride my bike, with Keo pedals, in my regular sneakers. It works fine.

+2 that's why I've never tried speedplay or anything like that. Looks can be used with sneakers/sandals to go and get the groceries.

I once rode with mine to school, about 5 miles and back.

But I have had my foot slip a couple of time and once bruised my skin real bad after it hit my shins. I also tried to sprint on them and it felt kind of dangerous.
