Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

FSA customer service is great

people naturally post bad experiences when customer service is bad, but not so much when it is good.

i have to say i was very pleased with FSA. i needed a micro-spacer for my headset but searching high and low i couldn't find anywhere that sold them. online stores didn't sell them because they are hardly ever needed and the LBSs only had a few for their own mechanics who only rarely used them and wouldn't sell them because they needed them.

i sent an email to FSA and after several exchanges to diagnose the problem, they confirmed i did indeed need this rarely used part. instead of directing me to a retailer they said not to worry about it and they would send me a bunch. today it arrived from italy, their eurpean main office and i am very pleased. nice effort FSA.

It's not all golden...I had a horrible experience with FSA that eventually led to me having to buy a new bicycle. I will never buy another part from FSA.

What problem does a micro-spacer solve? Just curious.

the head tube of my bike was a tiny bit too tall for the integrated headset, so when preloading the headset the cap on top of the bearings was touching the top of the headtube rather than the compression ring. the micro-spacer(s) going on top of the compression ring allows pressure to be put on the bearings.

Because there is a discussion about poor FSA service so this is an alternative experience.

I've had great luck with FSA -
I like their parts, and their service tends to be good.

I had full 2009 FSA K-Force Light set ( crankset, handlebar, seatpost, bottle cages) and matching OS-99 stem on my bike, after my terrible experience with FSA customer service, no more FSA products, never. I sold my bike and parts are on sale now.

FSA customer service sucks !@

I'm truly sorry to hear about that experience. My experience is that I use FSA parts on all 4 of my bikes (road racer, road racer, TT, & commuter) and they all work without any hiccups or issues.
A bunch of my team mates also use FSA parts, and whenever they have had problems, FSA has come through to make it right. Sorry to hear your experience has been otherwise.
