Wheels
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I was wondering if there is a site that has all the wheelset comparisons in quality/function/price etc. A place where I could just browse around and narrow down the list of "wants" using a certain criteria.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Indeed that would be convenient. About the best you're going to get is weight vs price. Trying to evaluate durability and aerodynamics is a bit more contentious. Your best bet is to read a bunch of "what wheels should I buy" threads and go from there.

I understand Velonews recently did a review of the Mavic R-Sys.

There's no such site that I'm aware of, but if you get your drool mats out I'll post some pics of my tri bike with a pair of 1080s on it in a few hours (rental wheels, though--still shopping).

there's a chart, in either french or german, I don't remember which, but there was this massive chart that did stiffness, aero and weight comparisons.

Actually wheels are fairly easy components to narrow down. Establish your budget first and your intended use next. There just aren't a lot of prebuilt wheelset manufacturers and they all seem to have one set at each price point.
And if you are looking for a hub/rim/spoke combination in a custom build, the wheelsmith probably matters more than any one or two of the components.

As a wheelbuilder I recommend you first establish a few things:
What's important to you - price? weight? durability? serviceability....etc.
When thinking about these factors consider your weight, the terrain and use of your wheels. Examples would be: I weigh 200 pounds and I want a mid priced wheelset ($300-$400) that will stand up to lots of long distance riding but not exactly feel like tank wheels. I want to be able to fix or repair the wheel on the spot in just about any shop in the world no matter what day it is...
or...
I am 130# and I need a lightweight race only wheelset. I want something that has decent aerodynamics but it light and climbs well. Price and servicibility are not big facotrs for me....etc.
Many pre-builts are a "one size fits all" solution. That means that you can easily get something that fits most of your parameters. To optimize you need to go custom. Full disclosure - that is what I do so take that with a grain of salt.
