i have been searching several sites and I cannot place this rear derailleur
can someone tell me the story behind this one. any help would be appreciated

Place it in the dumpster. Campy came out with C-Record crap to replace the classic Super Record. Then they decided they needed groups that looked and performed worse ... hence Victory & Triomphe
