Bearing Question

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bearing Question

Hey, I need some advice.

I am thinking about getting ceramic bearings to put on my Felt F75. Are these going to be worth it overall?

Another thing, a friend of mine has told me about technical equipment that uses sapphire bearings to keep things going forever. They're stronger and smoother than ceramic but we can't find anything about anyone using them. (We aren't sure if it will tear up the inside of the hub or something) Does anybody know why sapphire bearings aren't really used and/or why I should or shouldn't try it out?

No one makes sapphire cartridge bearings as far as I can tell. Unless your wheels have loose balls, you'll be out of luck. If your wheels do have loose balls, the worst that sapphire balls could do is to shatter and cause the hub to lock up.
