Olmo Mercury possible purchase
My 20 yr old son has a co-worker that is selling an Olmo Mercury for $1500 with less than 100 miles on it. Not to many Olmo's ridden in the states and there is little info about them on the web. But it has a Deda SAT 14.5 steel frame, Veloce 10 speed drive train with the skeleton type brakes, Mavic Askium Race wheels, 3t bars, stem, seat post, Concor Light saddle, Conti 3000 tires. The sellar decided to buy a Merlin and his wife said he had to get rid of a bike to buy the new one, he does have 10 bikes total.
So from a value stand point I think it's a good deal. But it is a 54cm frame and my son's height/body style is identical to mine and I have been riding 56cm bikes from day one. So fit could be an issue. The current stem is 80mm and I have acouple of 110's on the work bench that I can put on. It's currently sitting in my office and we'll give it some good long test rides.
So what does the panel of expert cyclists think?
