Happy Fathers Day!!! : Opinnions of Look 566 versus Cervelo RS frameset

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Happy Fathers Day!!! : Opinnions of Look 566 versus Cervelo RS frameset

Hi, happy fathers day to you all!!!! I have a Giant TCR-C1 frameset in small but am considering moving to a more friendly posture. From my reading am inclined to either a Look 566 or a Cervelo RS frameset, what is your opinion of them against each other? Also in terms of sizing, my true inseam is around 29.5 inches and am 5 feet 7 inches height, what would be the correct frame sizing? In cervelo they jump from 51 to 54, so beleive the 51 would be the right fit or should I opt for the 54cm? In the Look guess would be a small like my current Giant setup, or should it be a medium?

Thanks,

Francisco

By the way, do you know if the frameset of either is available by itself?

I'm 5'-6.5", but my cycling inseam is longer at 83cm, with a 73cm saddle height. I ride a 51cm or size S LOOK 585.

If your Giant has the 53.5mm TT with a 73.5 degree STA, the 51cm LOOK 566 would only offer a 10mm taller head tube with about the same reach as you have now.

Your Giant would be just as friendly if the stem had a higher rise.

I don't hink you'll find the 566 as a frame only.

My opinion is that all of the Look dealers in my area are stuck-up jackasses; I didn't even consider them when I was shopping for a new bike. I tried the Felt Z25, Cervelo RS, and Specialized Roubaix. Narrowed the decision down to the Roubaix Expert or Pro and the Cervelo RS. The Roubaix was a bit more plush, while the Cervelo was lighter and faster. The Roubaix Pro frameset was back-ordered for 4-8 weeks in the size I needed, so I ultimately went with the Cervelo.

Based on Cervelo's published stand over heights, you'll want the 51cm frame.

An indicated on their website, the Cervelo RS is available as either a frameset (MSRP: US$2400) or as a complete bike with Ultegra SL components (MSRP: US$3500).

I've never been a fan of the Look paint jobs. Other than that, I have never read either bike.
