I know, "wear what you want," but . . .

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pearl Izumi (a jersey that fits me well) just came out with a replica of the Garmin (favorite team) Zabriskie (favorite rider) "Captain America" jersey (and America is my favorite country). It's is damn cool. But this might be the step to far, that I just can't do, tooling around in what is a national champion jersey for the country I live in.

go for it, not many people will know it's a national champions jersey anyway.
Like people that wear the world champion jersey, most people just think they're showing rainbow pride.

My wife just got me the Garmin Irish Champion's jersey of Dan Martin for father's day... I say get it and wear it with pride!

Let's see. When I ride on Saturdays, well actually riding home after training and the "pros" are out around 10:30am, I have seen in one day, a World Champion, 2 Yellow Jersey's, a couple of Quick Step, a few Gand riders( I thought they disbanded years ago), 1 Kom, several Trek/Discovery jerseys of different seasons and a couple Garmin/Liquigas combo jersey bib deals.

So why not? It's a cool jersey.

I'm in San Diego too. If I see you wearing that jersey, you better be sipping on some fluffed up frappuccino.

You mean you're saying that you're so insecure that you won't wear a piece of clothing until a bunch of faceless morons at BF sign off on it?

I don't really feel that way at all. I think the jersey is cool and would wear it if I had it.

But I wanted to beat the rest of the boys to the belittling comments.

Yeah I got that e-mail from PI this morning too!

I like DZ, but not a huge fan of this jersey, but just because I'm not big on the style/looks, not the jersey itself.

Wear it dude! FWIW I have the Garmin "inspired" black and red argyle. It's pretty nice, but cut a bit too loose (they admit that it's not a performance fit).

Of course, maybe the real question is whether a guy my size wearing that much stars-and-stripes fabric would be mistaken for a Chevrolet dealership.

All the more reason to wear it. I just got a TDF yellow jersey. I'm inclined to wear it as much as possible just to provoke the nitwits. Plus, there's no way to disappoint people with your riding when you're in that kind of getup. If you're slow, that's what people expect. Any "real" riders that can't match your pace will feel like idiots if they've just dissed you as a clueless n00b

It is a cool jersey, I say go for it! I like the Dan Martin / Irish Champion version as well.

We should get a "San Diegans Who Wear Garmin Gear" group together.

I'm usually riding in a Garmin cap.

I just saw that jersey on the website. I might have to get it. Especially since my school colours are red and black.
