Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I found this bike at my grandmas house. Has been stored(poorly) for almost 15 yrs. I´ve googled logos but cant come up with any info. Any ideas if its worth to repair/make rideable??

It was a basic road bike when it was new; probably around the late 80's, early 90's. CrMo frame and fork, base model componentry.
Strip it down and find some parts on eBay and you'll have a pretty good bike.

Looks like at the very least it needs new tires and tubes and a new chain. It may need a new freewheel and more. It could get expensive. You should probably just take it to a LBS for an estimate.

One of my older bikes, chromoly Ishiwata frame, has a Suntour Edge group.Very smooth index downtube shifting and comfortable ride. The chainring seems to be a high quality, machine cut steel that shows no wear after 20 years. You are aware Suntour was the first in index shifting before the Shimano people stole it.Unfortunately the Suntour wheel bearing races on mine are worn so I,ll have to replace both wheels soon.
From the condition I see, better get a big can of spray oil and soak it all down for a few days.
Talk to the guys in C+V if you restore the bike.A lot of Suntour fans in there.

If it were me, I'd be real careful about which LBS you choose to evaluate. Some are Classic & Vintage (old bike) freindly and some are not. If you hear something like "That bikes not worth it, you need to spend $1000 on a new bike" it's time to move on. I'll bet all you need are a couple of tires (go cheap) and a new chain (again, go cheap). Get the bike running then, after you've had some ride time decide what you want to do. Additionally, if you get it up and running and decide you don't like it, you can sell it on CL. My guess is a bike like that, fully operational, would sell somewhere around $150 or higher.
As for replacing the freewheel, try not to if that's a 7 speed. You have a Suntour group, and Suntour 7 speed is not compatable with Shimano seven speed freewheels. Six speed is more forgiving and should work OK with a Shimano freewheel.
You may want to post that bike on the C&V forum under the evaluation subforum for some additional input.

Do it yourself and you should have the bike up and running for under $50. Pay your favorite shop to do it, and you will rapidly exceed the value of the bike. So if controlling/managing cost is important, either sell it as is or do the work yourself. Should be able to get around $50 for it as is.
