Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Does anyone have any experience/insight into noseless saddles on road bikes?

2 years ago while riding I experienced extreme pain in my scrotum that never went away. A year later I was diagnosed with a condition called Pudendal Neuralgia and was told it was because of my cycling and to stop. I had some shots for it and even considered having surgery on it until last week when I was diagnosed with an uncommon nerve disorder which cause the PN in the first place. I was told I could bike again but would have to use a special seat. Looking around I need a noseless saddle with space for my perineum/scrotal/anal area to have no pressure placed on it.

I ride a Kuota Kalibur and also have a 6 year old Trek Equinox, both are tri bikes but I don't compete with them I just found them more comfortable than regular road bikes. I'd really like to get back out there and start riding from sun up to sun down again. Hope anyone can help.

Try the SMP saddles:

https://www.sellesmp.com/en/default.htm

Noseless saddles can affect handling on road bikes because you steer with your hips a lot.

I've got an Topeak/Allay saddle you could try...

I think it's the racing 1.1 model. It has a bladder that takes place of the nose. When you don't put any air in the bladder, it feels very close to a nose less saddle. PM me your address and I'll box it up and ship it to you to try. It only has about 50 miles on it and is in perfect shape...

I don't use it anymore just because I'm now in love with a Toupe.

Search Amazon for 'noseless saddle', there are a few models there that seem like what you need.

I use a Moonsaddle, but that's on my hybrid. No pressure on the perineum at all though it does take some getting used to.

I usually ride on my aero bars anywayso I don't have a real problem with handling.

The allay seat looks interesting, but i really cant have anything pressing on the whole of my anal area and it all "needs to hang" so to speak.

I've seen the ism touring seat in person and the hole in the middle is quite small and the seat looked really odd.

The smp saddle looks interesting to, but i still feel it would coddle my boys.

Looking at the moon saddle though. The info on the site wasn't all that clear and I was wondering what part of your glutes actually touch the seat.

This.

Using aero bars makes no difference; you still need the nose for handling. And surely one doesn't spend all one's time in an aero position, unless all you ride is TT/Tri.

Try some of the saddles with perineal relief areas.

Definitely check out the SMP saddles. Mine is the most comfortable saddle that I have ridden. No pressure at all.

I don't know what the ism touring seat is, but you should give the Road or Race version a try. It sounds like you have a TT setup, which is the best application for the ISM. Your junk would basically hang off the front. The saddle worked okay for me on a regular road bike, but it became really uncomfortable for the sitbones after an hour. Zero perineum pressure, though. I'm on an SMP now, but I wouldn't recommend that for a TT setup.

I used one after prostate problems (non bike related) and it was o k. Riding with one had became more difficult, but not impossible. It was better than not riding.

I saw that type saddle at the local target store, don't know if they have them in your area but you can try any one of the big box stores and see.
