Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've been using Velo Plugs since my ROX rim strip deteriorated and ate a couple tubes (a couple of years ago). They are definitely the WW way to go.

I remember reading that you're also using velo plugs. How are they working out for you?

I've had trouble with that not working so well when replacing a tube post flat. (contact cement was what I tried)

Electrical tape is what I've found to work well. Either a bunch of 1 inch strips or a complete wrap around the wheel.

nope. i have considered them but never tried them. velox is 14g a wheel. didnt think the couple of grams was worth it in case they did cause some problems.

Bah! 2g of plugs and 1g of glue < 18g of rim tape...

Electrical tape is easier, and only weighs ~4g per wheel if you wrap the whole thing.
