Better cleat bolts?
I need something better than the cleat bolts I have now. The stainless steel they're made of is too soft and the hex openings round off too easily.
Ideas?

In the past I've used less torque and found my cleats moved around.
I also use a small drop of loctite blue on all the bolts.

Go to a place that sells industrial speciality nuts and bolts or Good hardware store. Home depot was no help when I was looking.

I agree that you're torquing too much if you are stripping the heads. Grease or thread compound is important.

Look says 5.5n*m, which seems ridiculously low to me.

It is common to make the cheapest component the weakest, this way if you over torque or cross thread you ruin the bolt instead of the shoe. So be careful what you wish for.

I used ones I got at the ACE hardware, they have a grade number for hardness, you have to match the tread pitch and diameter.
