Won Some $$$ at Atlantic City, Buying a New Bike

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Won Some $$$ at Atlantic City, Buying a New Bike

Anyone on the forums own a: Fuji Finest?

I'm thinking of getting this to treat myself (I won $700 in Atlantic City today!)

I like the ChroMoly Frame and it's $600 price tag, but I notice it's got lower end components, I figure I can upgrade later on, is it worth it?

The other bike I'm considering is the Specialized Allez Sport, which is aluminum, better components (Tiagra/105), at $820.00

What do you think I should go with?

take a look at felt...if i am not mistaken there mid-level bikes (f65) come with ultegra or dura ace components. I could be wrong but it's worth a look....they make awesome bikes.

The F65 is full 105 and costs around $1000. A lot of people do like Felt though.

Not really sure about the Fuji, I have heard nothing about it. I am a big fan of steel though. If you want aluminum and want to stay cheap you should be able to find a base model Specialized Allez for under $600. It is the same frame as the Allez Sport, but component wise is similar to the Fuji. Personally I would go for the Allez Sport.

Iron Horse Triumph if you want aluminum. Might also check the Giant OCR 2.

While I like Fuji in general for it's quality and value, I hesitate to endorse the Finest with it's non-descript Chro-moly steel frame. At this price point, I can imagine it being somewhat heavy in comparison to say the Roubaix Pro, which is 853 steel.

If you like steel, check out Bianchi.
