Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Scottsdale, AZ HELP

Hi All.

I will be in town for the next little while for work (down from Toronto Canada) and would love to fit in some rides, but I cannot travel with my bike.

Are there any locals who know of a shop that will rent me a Road Bike?

Thanks,

Cam

My wife rented a bike for a week when she was in Scottsdale. I don't know who she used, I'll point her to this thread when she gets home.

Call DNA cycles. They have loaner Specialized Tarmacs and Roubaixs they give out for long test rides. If they're not being used I'll bet you they'll consider renting you one. Heck they're such nice guys they might just let you borrow it. 480-515-BIKE Sweet shop. Some sweet routes in Scottsdale but get an early start because it has been brutal hot lately.

Via Linda, Cave Creek, Fountain Hills and Dynamite are all good routes.

I live in BC, and have a house in Fountian Hills. I ride the routes out around Fountain Hills, Carefree and Cave Creek.

Great riding.

I would not ride Dynamite on a weekday but on weekends it's pretty nice.

I recently sent some friends who were heading down to AOA and they got some pretty nice bikes. The other suggestion of DNA would work as well as they have now opened a second store right in Scottsdale ( Scottsdale and Loop 101 area).

Have fun, enjoy.

I wish I was going down.

You realize it's the 110+ degree time of year right? Be careful if you're not used to it!

Here's a bike shop that rents in Scottsdale:
