Tommasini Sintesi - New Bike Porn
It is no longer just a frame and a bunch of parts! She's ALIVE!
Just threw on the new seat post and stem, and took the obligatory pics.
I'm a sucker for lugged steel and wanted something that was more road race oriented but not too aggressive, had some room for at least 25mm if not 28mm tires, wanted comfort over stiffness. Decided to build it up Italian of course but with some modern parts.
Purely a recreational weekend ride with the occasional fast commute, no racing.
First real ride this weekend, have only taken it around the block so far, but it seems to ride real nice.
Just a little twitchy in the steering compared to The Cadillac (my Rivendell) that I commute on.
This is my first campy setup, but after a few initial jitters and trying to figure it all out, I think I'm really going to like it.
Build Specs:
56cm Tommasini Sintesi frame
Campagnolo Centaur group
Fulcrum Racing 7 Campy Wheelset with 25mm Conti Gatorskins.
Thomson Seatpost
Thomson Stem
FSA Wing Pro Bar
Fizik Microtex White Bar Tape
Shimano Dura Ace pedals (soon to be replaced by red Speedplays)
Specialized Toupe Gel Saddle (soon to be replaced by white Selle Regal)

Yep that is straight up porn. It looks fantastic! Great job on the build.
I love my Campy Centaur setup. I have the 08 carbon stuff but I think the standard metal version looks much better. Great job matching the frame and components.

Absolutely beautiful!
I'm also curious... what year is your frame?
Do they still make those, or is it a vintage?

beautiful bike. I'm guessing this is not a 1" threaded fork with adaptor, eg you have standard threadless setup?

haha, ya the setback is more of an illusion. It's only 16mm which his just over half an inch.
That's less than most other posts, outside of perfectly straight ones.
I have a shorter torso and a bum neck/shoulder that I've been working on, so I don't like to lean over far hence the 70mm stem.
I haven't dialed in fit yet, so I may push the seat back a hair, we'll see.
Gotta get some ride time in first.

Nice! Welcome to the fully-built-up Tommasini club! I really love mine and every time I glance at it I say to myself, "Wow...that's a nice bike!" When I ride it I think even nicer thoughts!
I think there is a Tommasini thread in the C&V forum and I've shared mine there but let me know if you want me to post mine here. Yours might need a pal, but I wouldn't want to steel anything from yours either...

That is definitely a beauty!
Love the colors, chrome lugs, and the build selection.
(Nit picking, but the computer wire routing on your fork detracts a little).

looks good, those fulcrums almost look orange
I'm suprised you went with thompson over nitto for the stem
if I were to change anything, it would be the seatpost and stem, for purely aesthetic reasons
