Riddle me this, Batman (Part 1 - Urine & etc.)
Here’s a question that I’m sure 95% of you know the answer to, and I just happen to be the newbie in the wrong 5% of the group. So this should be easy.
So, the Tour De France starts with about 180 riders. It lasts 21 days (riding). Each day is of differing distances (and times). To simplify the math, I’ll use averages and knock off a few numbers here and there, along with a few hours to give the benefit of the doubt.
Let’s say on average, we’re looking at 160 riders (some fall out). And on average they ride 4 hours each stage / day. And they ride for 21 days.
160 (riders) x 21 (days) x 4 (hours) = 13,440 total hours of riding time amongst them.
Why is that we never see a single rider during any of these 13,000 + hours of riding needing to take a leak or a crap during these rides?
Okay, okay. One argument is “they crap and piss before they leave each day.”
Fine. We can knock off the first hour of riding and chalk that up to a pre-bathroom visit. 4 hours becomes 3 hours. (Not to mention some days are shorter time trials).
160 x 21 x 3 = 10,080 hours of riding time.
Statistically speaking, if you were to randomly have 10,080 hours of bike riding over 21 days amongst 160 riders, you’d likely have at least a few hundred bathroom breaks needed throughout that time.
Are they pissing themselves? Are they taking some sort of stool softeners? Is the adrenalin just so high that it keeps it all at bay for the 3 – 4 hours needed?
What am I missing?

There was a thread on this a little while ago. In short, they just go off the side of the road in groups. You probably don't see it because networks and people have better things to do then watching people going to the bathroom. Not that many people are into odd fetishes like that.

When I had a back surgery a number of years ago, they gave me a "stool softener" to keep me from having to have to sit on a toilet for a few days following the procedure.
I didn't take a squat for 6 days!!
Maybe "stool softener" is the wrong phrase.
