Prediction...Jens Voight crash will be blamed on frame failure
Did anyone watch the slo-mo of that horrible crash? So what was with all of those white strips that rolled out on the pavement as he skidded? It looked as if someone has spilled a handful of soda straws.
I'm predicting that the crash will be blamed on frame failure and UCI will institute new rules on frame weight limits. |
Straws??? I saw sparks, no straws.
|
he hit a bump
his hands slipped |
He went over a bump as he had let go of the bars with his left hand.
That is how it appeared to me anyhoo. |
I blame physics.
|
It was sparks, not straws. The frame rate of the picture made the sparks look like straws. The same effect that makes wheel appear to roll backwards.
|
I blame The Dropa Stones
|
I think that the bump unweighted his rear wheel as he was accelerating and moving to the right (and shifting his weight right), and his tire came down on the painted line. Poor guy.
His hand off the bar just magnified the whole motion, IMO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYKvZsvyw04 |
I blame Lance.

it's too bad they keep gravity on at weekends
|
It's obviously gravity's fault. Luckily the ground broke his fall though. Otherwise who knows what could have happened.
|
Keep trying.

The white stuff didn't come off until the frame was sliding on the pavement but it did look like frame or paint material to me. Sparks were likely from the rear skewer or something in the rear. The bike did not appear to fall apart before he went down. Bike looked bad after he slid to a stop. Can't blame the frame for that crash as far as I could see. Having seen it far too many times again and again and over and over, replay after replay...
Horrific crash... |
I watched the crash and it did not appear that there was any contributing frame issue... he lost his front wheel at very high speed.
Very bad. I've been there. |
Gravity sucks

Bjarne talked to Jens and Jens said that he just lost control of his bike.

I blame Newton, he shouldn't have "discovered" gravity in the first place.

In before "recall will happen".
