During the cert class, some people don't keep enough speed in the turns and they slide down the track.
Not saying that you will, just that someone else might take you out. If you only have one team kit and want to keep it nice for race day, don't wear it.

coasting 07-25-09 12:56 PM

why are bf members all so filthy?

Why does this matter? Sometimes I get the feeling this is a forum for 16 year old girls trying to figure out what to wear to the junior prom.

We're all either cranky middle-aged fat guys or immature socially awkward teenagers. What else would you expect?

Good thing you weren't here for the OCP craze.

Yeah, that happened the last time I was on this track (long story why he couldn't cert us then). Since I have ridden on 5 other velodromes and junior state and national championships, I wasn't stupid enough to get caught up in it. I went up and over the human bowling pins. Good point that I might get taken out, though.

Because we get home from a hot, sweaty ride and can't help but post on everything we missed while we were away before we're willing to take a shower.

You too huh?

urbanknight 07-25-09 01:56 PM

I thought everybody was just like me... in every way. If not, they're wrong :D

roccobike 07-25-09 02:03 PM

Take a crowbar, put it in your wallet, and buy a inexpensive, second, jersey off ebay. I'll push it and use shorts back to back, but never a jersey.
Doesn't the stink bother you?

clutchy 07-25-09 02:05 PM

that poll stratification is pretty amazing.

pdedes 07-25-09 03:10 PM

one ride, one wash, anything else is vile. that's the bf rule.

froze 07-25-09 06:41 PM

Buy wool for your kit instead of polyester, this will eliminate most if not all the stink enabling to ride both events with just one kit. Otherwise the European Shower is a good idea. I voted for the team kit for the group ride and plain jersey for the track.

Waxbytes 07-25-09 06:48 PM

Just rip their legs off on the group ride and hammer them at the track, and you can wear whatever you want because all they will be able to smell is the stench of their own defeat

rubic 07-25-09 06:53 PM

Not having a team kit, all I can do is attack.

Hey urbanknight,

How did it go?

I was at the track on Friday night during the open training session as a spectator to show it to a buddy who was in town from New Hampshire. He was duly impressed.

bassplayinbiker 07-25-09 10:45 PM

what a stupid question.

seriously/

I'm certifiable. :D

Everything went fine as I expected. Andrew is an interesting character. Aside from the "ground school", all we had to do was ride the pole lane and blue line keeping a steady distance from each other, and do a couple of flying 200m (part of me wishes someone had a stopwatch, part of me is glad they didn't).

Thank you. My work is done.

And since anyone crazy enough to respond to this thread probably wants to know the outcome, I wore the kit both times. I had just enough time to wach and machine dry the kit in between.

Flatballer 07-26-09 09:21 AM

You machine dry your kits?

Ouch.

FAIL. If you actually read the thread, you'd know that I machine dried my kit for this event only :p

We've been doing it for years with no problems.
