Potentially stupid sizing question

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Potentially stupid sizing question

I am 5'10" with a 30 inch inseam. My current Mountain Bike is an 18 inch frame but I have the seat rather high up and can still touch my feet on the ground at stops.

My question is this: I am on a quest for a road bike I can ride to get used to riding it before I throw a lot of money at a higher end bike. I found a Raleigh Road Bike for $50 on CL, but it has a 25 inch frame. Is there any way I could make this work?

Sorry if this is an obvious question. I would rather not drive all the way out to where it's at to test ride it if it's useless to do so.

Thanks.

Too big. A 23" (58 cm) would be closer. A 21" (56 cm) would be even better. Your reach would be too much on that tall a bike also. You'd feel like Superman riding it. Look further

I'm 5'11" with a 33" inseam and a 25" would be too tall for me.

Don't get a bike that doesn't fit you just because its a good deal. Fit is the most important thing, so take your time. I think you should try out 56 and 54 cm frames and go from there.

Okay. Thanks for the input.

Also, I'm glad you suggested a frame size. This is the first time I've seen a direct answer to the size question.
