My 2010 CAAD9 just arrived!

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My 2010 CAAD9 just arrived!

About 2 weeks ago I put a deposit on a 2010 Cannondale CAAD9-5. I was certain that it wouldn't arrive until mid September, but I got the call today. My bike is ready for pick up! I'll post pics when I pick it up on Monday.

I almost went for the 9-4, but it came down to the money. If you don't mind me asking, how much are the shops charging for the 9-4?

I got the 9 4 at a "special" price

MSRP on the 9 4 will be around ~ $2000. 2009 SRAM Rival Groupo, save for the cranks which are SRAM Force BB30 cranks.

Its a delicious spec, and can't wait to assemble it.

So you're going to let it sit there for 2-3 days?

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it? What are your opinions of the new color scheme? I'm looking into getting a caad9 5 but I can't really look at them because I've been away from home the whole summer but thank God I get back on Wednesday so I might be able to snag a 2009 in case there's much of a price difference but the new paint scheme might be worth some extra money.

Retail on the 9-5 is $1399. I only get to ride mine for an hour tomorrow morning before I have to leave town for a wedding .

Screw the wedding (even if it's your own) and ride your bike. Everyone will understand. You have our support.

it does, actually.
I'm slightly sad that I got a 2008 caad9 with the heavy Ultra fork... but not too sad, since I've enjoyed the bike while I've had it.

i just asked my LBS for the price of the 2010 CAAD 9-5, they said $1399. I can't imagine them selling under MSRP. Did they just misquote me? Makes me a little sad.

I can't even find the 9-4 on the Cannondale website. Does it have a different name?

Cannondale website hasn't been updated yet. Bike shops are just now receiving the new 2010 line-up books/catalogs, etc.

They should get on that website soon though.

I paid $1399. It seems that Cannondale always lists this model on their website for $100 more than what the dealers actually sell it for. This is common practice in the bicycle industry.

I ordered my CAAD9-5 (the grey model) from my LBS today and am gonna ride it when it comes in (about a week), if everything is right I will be buying it and taking it home. The price they told me was 1399, 100 less than the other Cannondale dealer in the area. Now I need to know which pedals/shoes should I get with?
