Show Me Your New Paint Jobs!
I like to bring old road bikes back to life, and a big part of that is a new paint job. I know there's an older thread out here on bicycle painters, but I'd like to give these guys their due. Here's my last four projects:
1992 Schwinn Paramount OS, originally an uninspiring white and bought pretty scratched up. House of Kolor paint and new decals from Waterford.
1991 Masi Team 3V, a very stiff bike originally painted orange-yellow. Burgundy powdercoat by Spectrum Powderworks, decals from JRRestore of this very forum.
1991 Eddy Merckx Century TSC, original painted a very ugly black, pink, and yellow and acquired with a severely gouged and beat up finish. Great work by Joe Vasquez of Joe's Bicycle Painting to duplicate the 7-Eleven scheme, with decals from JRRestore.
Finally, if you're a Paramount fan, I guess you could have spent a fortune buying one of the 70th Anniversary 953 frames with the ungainly looking fork. Or, you could do what I did, which is take your 1998 Match-built Paramount with the chipped-up red finish and have Dave Bohm of Bohemian Bicycles produce the classic rear triangle and lug look using trick chrome paint.
I highly recommend all these painters, and they're all readily findable on the Web. What's your restoration project look like?

I have a Cannondale off being painted as we speak. I predict it make at least half of the Road forum's heads explode when it's finished in a month or so.
The term Epic comes to mind.

All these are fakes that I painted myself for about 50 bucks each.
The stickers were only a few bucks from the local shop.
The white 'Colnago' and white 'Look' are the same frame, but the Colnago stickers started peeling off, so i switched. It's a $400 Triandrun frame, weighing 1365g; size 57.
The blue 'Look' is a $250 Allegro. 1600g, size 57
The 'Bianchi' is a locally made 7003 Dedaccia frame, which was $500. Weighs 1550g, size 58.
